PAINESVILLE, Ohio — A family-owned Painesville bakery in business for more than 120 years isn’t letting the COVID-19 pandemic bring them down, adapting to provide their services to customers while practicing social distancing.
Gartman Model Bakery, located on North State Street in Painesville, was opened in 1898. The Gartman family has seen it all, from the influenza pandemic in 1918 to the Great Depression to World War I and World War II.
Weathering through hardships is something Gartman Model Bakery knows how to do, and the COVID-19 pandemic is no different.
The bakery has adapted to the current climate, offering curbside pick up orders for their fresh baked bread, pies, cakes and other baked goods.
