AVON, Ohio — Railroad Brewing Company in Avon is open and it’s helping the community with a food bank.
Since Gov. DeWine closed all the bars and restaurants, Railroad Brewing Company has started a food bank, and they have a no-questions asked policy.
Anyone can come in and take what they want. The food bank is stocked by donations from individuals in the community.
When they first started it, the food pantry was serving just a couple people. Now they are serving about 20 people, with some churches using the supplies to feed their congregations.
"We know people are going to need help and we wanted to help in some way, shape or form,” said Jerome Moore, head brewer. "We're all trying to stick together and trying to get through this strange time.”
The brewery is open every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. They are taking non-perishable donations like peanut butter, soup, cereal and oatmeal.
