AMHERST, Ohio — Earlier this month, a fire at beloved Amherst restaurant Hot Dog Heaven started with a spark in the kitchen near the grill and deep fryers and spread through the building, but the owners said the damage won't stop them from coming back.

Sunday, the community plans to help them rebound.

The owners at Cole’s Public House here are hosting a fundraiser to help the Hot Dog Heaven family get back on their feet. It's called Hot Dogs for a Cause.

From noon until 8 p.m., they will be selling $8 baskets of hot dogs with 100% of the proceeds going directly to Hot Dog Heaven employees and families. The restaurant will be doing both carry-out and are also inviting people in for dine-in service to help out and watch the Browns game.

The owners of Hot Dog Heaven have said that they are going to rebuild and hopefully the proceeds from Saturday’s fundraiser will help them work towards that goal.
