CLEVELAND — Former Indians outfielder Tyler Naquin is heading south, but not too far, as he finds a new home with the Cincinnati Reds.
The Reds announced they had signed Naquin to a minor league contract with a non-roster invitation to major league training camp.
Naquin became a free agent this season after spending his five-year career with the Indians.
During his time in Cleveland, Naquin averaged .274 with 31 home runs, 54 doubles, six triples, and 121 RBI over 325 games.
Last season, Naquin batted .218 with four home runs and 20 RBI over the course of 40 games.
The Indians took to social media Thursday to thank Naquin for his time with the club.
Thank you, Tyler and good luck on your next chapter.
