Former Cleveland Indians player Luis Valbuena and former major leaguer José Castillo were killed in a car accident in Venezuela, Major League Baseball has confirmed.
Valbuena played infield for the Tribe from 2009-2011. He was acquired in the three-team, 11-player trade between the Indians, Mariners and Mets in 2008. After his tenure with the Indians, he went on to have a long career with the Cubs, Astros and Angels.
