Mike Clevinger returns to Cleveland Indians after back injury

CLEVELAND — Sunshine has returned to the Cleveland Indians.

Mike Clevinger was activated from the 60-day injured list on Monday.

Clevinger is set to make his third start of the season against the Texas Rangers.

So far this season, Clevinger pitched 12 scoreless innings over two starts.

He was placed on the injured list on April 7 with a strain in his back.

Clevinger played a few games with the AAA Columbus Clippers and AA Akron beginning June 6.

The Indians moved pitcher Josh Smith to Columbus and placed pitcher Corey Kluber on the 60-day injured list.
