CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Cavaliers have teamed up with popular rideshare app Lyft to raise money for local nonprofit organizations to provide transportation assistance to the community.

Each month, Lyft will donate $1,000 dollars in rideshare credit to the Cavs’ charity of choice. With those credits, individuals who use the charity’s services don’t have to worry about how they’ll get to an appointment or important event as the organizations help try to eliminate transportation barriers for people utilizing the organization's services.

The Cavs chose the Susan G. Komen foundation for October’s charity, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Also throughout the season, the Cavs and Lyft will raise additional money for charity with the Round-Up and Donate feature.

The money raised in November for the Round-Up and Donate fundraiser will be donated to the USO.
