Cleveland Cavaliers guard JR Smith will pay out $600 to a fan for throwing his cell phone into a construction zone in July, according to ESPN.
The incident happened in New York City on July 26. The fan told police he tried to take a photo of Smith, but the Cavs player grabbed the phone and tossed it into a work zone, ESPN reported.

Smith was cited for criminal mischief. Smith's attorney said star player will pay $600 in restitution to the fan for the lost phone, ESPN said.
The decision is expected to be finalized in court during Smith's next appearance on Nov. 15.
