BEREA, Ohio — Browns rookie safety Grant Delpit is expected to miss the entire 2020 season after an MRI showed that he ruptured his Achilles tendon, according to the Browns.
Delpit was injured Monday while conducting individual practice drills.
The rookie was selected with a second-round pick out of LSU and was set to have a significant role with the Browns secondary.
Delpit was dubbed one of the top defensive backs in LSU history, winning the 2019 Thorpe Award as the nation’s top defensive back. He recorded 199 tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, 7 sacks and 8 interceptions in his time at LSU.
