CLEVELAND — Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt underwent surgery to repair his hernia.
Hunt will not play in the final preseason game against the Lions.
The Browns said a full recovery is anticipated prior to his return to action in week 10 of the regular season.
Hunt was suspended eight games due to physical altercations.
The NFL decided earlier this week that he has to spend his suspension isolated from the team.
The team had asked Commissioner Roger Goodell to allow Hunt to be around his teammates, arguing he could use the extra support. But to this point, Hunt will not be able to interact with his teammates or staff inside the team’s building in Berea, Ohio, until his punishment ends in November.
