CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Browns, looking for help at the guard position, added an Akron native to the roster Monday.
Jovahn Fair, a Firestone High School graduate, was signed by the Browns Monday.
Fair, a 6 foot, 2 inch, 310 pound rookie out of Temple University was originally signed by Kansas City as an undrafted free agent.
In his time at Temple, Fair started 42 out of the 45 games he played.
At Firestone High School, Fair was a four-year letter winner at offensive and defensive line, recording 13 forced fumbles and three sacks in his senior season.
Fair received third-team all-state, second-team all-district and first-team all-conference honors at Firestone High School where he also wrestled and ran track and field.
On Sunday, the Browns signed guard Michael Dunn. Originally signed by the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2017, Dunn spent time on the Rams and Jacksonville Jaguars practice squads in 2017 and 2018, respectively.
Dunn also spent time with the Miami Dolphins during the 2019 preseason and was a member of the AAF's Birmingham Iron in 2019 and the XFL's Seattle Dragons this year.
The Browns were in need of guards after Malcolm Pridgeon, Colby Gossett and Drew Forbes opted out of the season.
The Browns also waived cornerback Jameson Houston Monday, setting the current active roster at 80 players.
