The Cleveland Browns have added Phillip Gaines and Jermaine Whitehead to the team and waived Denzel Rice.
Defensive back Gaines was waived from the Buffalo Bills.
Gaines is 6 feet tall and weighs 193 pounds.
He was drafted by Kansas City in the third round in 2014.
Gaines has appeared in 48 games with 22 starts. He has a total of 126 tackles, 16 passes defended, two forced fumbles and one interception.
He spent four seasons with the Chiefs before signing with Buffalo, where he started six and of seven games and recorded 30 tackles this season.
The Browns also added defensive back Whitehead, who was waived from the Green Bay Packers.
Whitehead is 5-feet-11-inches tall and weighs 195 pounds.
He signed with San Francisco as an undrafted free agent in 2015.
Whitehead has appeared in 19 games with the Packers from 2016-18. He has 17 tackles, two passes defended and one sack.
He appeared in seven games with two starts this season.
The Browns waived defensive back Rice to make room for the new additions.
Rice appeared in eight games this season and recorded one interception and three special teams tackles.
