Browns rookie Denzel Ward was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week on Wednesday for efforts that didn't go unnoticed during Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens.
In an overtime 12-9 victory against Baltimore, Ward blocked a field goal, had five tackles, three passes and he blocked a 48-yard field goal attempt as time ticked down at the end of the first half.
His efforts helped the team win their first AFC North Division game since Oct. 11, 2015.
Ward was the fourth overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. His three interceptions are most by a Brown through the first five weeks since Anthony Henry in 2001.
This is the Browns' first Special Teams Player of the Week since DL Jamie Meder won in Week 16 in 2016.
