Start charging your controllers and get ready build your ultimate team: Madden NFL 20 is less than a month away from releasing, and Electronic Arts has revealed its much-anticipated player rankings for the launch of the latest installment in the storied football game franchise.
Browns fans will be pleased to note that the team is well-represented, with Odell Beckham, Jr. near the top of the rankings with an overall score of 96, putting him in company with Tom Brady, Fletcher Cox, Travis Kelce and other top NFL talent. OBJ was not only given a top rating, but also a unique “Superstar X-Factor” zone ability: “Rac’Em Up.” This unlockable ability will make it harder for OBJ to let run after the catch catches slip away and allows him to secure contested RAC catches in single coverage when in the zone. Kind of like in real life.
Defensive end Myles Garrett ranked second-highest among Browns players, with an overall rating of 91, narrowly beating out running back Kareem Hunt, who scored 90. Hunt will not play until the 9th game of the real NFL season after being suspended for eight games in connection to a physical altercation he had with a woman in a Cleveland hotel.
Baker Mayfield earned a respectable 83 rating, making him the 12th-best quarterback in the game.
Wide receiver Jarvis Landry, who earned an 84 overall rating, was one of the players featured in a video reacting to his ratings – he’s hoping for a bump to his acceleration and speed.
The Browns still don’t command the power ratings of other NFL teams – the team is ranked 17th with an offense rating of 83, a defense rating of 82, and an 83 overall rating. That’s a decent jump from last year, however, when the Browns came in at 24 with an overall rating of 77.
You can see how each Browns player, and every other player and team in the NFL, currently rank in Madden NFL 20 here. The ratings will be updated weekly throughout the season.
Madden NFL 20 releases worldwide on August 2.
