CLEVELAND — The Scottish Hammer has been named the AFC Special Teams player of the Week.

Punter Jamie Gillan earned the honor after booting six punts for 231 yards against the New York Jets.

Gillan landed five punts inside the 20-yard line, which is the most of any player during the second week of the season.

The Scottish Hammer's efforts helped limit the Jets to one punt return for five yards.

Cleveland's 20-point win was the team's largest margin of victory since Nov. 6, 2004.

It was also the first time the Browns won during Monday Night Football since Nov. 17, 2008.

Gillan is leading the NFL with eight punts inside the 20 this season.

This is the first Browns Special Teams Player of the Week Award since Denzel Ward won in week 5 in 2018.

The Scottish Hammer is the first Browns punter to win the award since Spencer Lanning won it during week 3 in 2013.
