Kent State University holds annual Veteran's Day Commemoration virtually

KENT, Ohio — Kent State University held its annual Veteran’s Day Commemoration, but this year it was held virtually.

The program, titled “Honoring All Who Serve” included a pre-recorded flag-raising ceremony held by joint color guard from the Army ROTC and Air Force ROTC programs on the Student Green at Risman Plaza, the national anthem performed by student Corinne VanNatta as well as remarks from Kent State President Todd Diacon.

Emceeing the program was Lt. Col. Adrien Humphreys, who currently is the Professor of Military Science at Kent State University.

Col. Donnette Boyd, who served for over eight years as a line officer and has served in Korea, Germany, Guam, Italy, Iraq and Afghanistan, was a guest speaker during the event.
