DAYTON, Ohio — The Berlin Hiland Hawks Girls Varsity Team are bringing some new hardware back home with them after defeating the Ottawa-Glandorf Titans Saturday afternoon in the Ohio High School Athletic Association Basketball State Tournament hosted at the University of Dayton.
The Hawks took down the Titans 45-25 as Brynn Mullet lead the team in scoring with 14 points, assisted by Zoe Miller who put up 12 points. Kyli Horn lead the team in assists with three while Morgan Yoder led the team in steals with five.
Ottawa-Glandorf took an early lead over the Hawks, but that would last long with Hiland taking a 10-7 lead just before the end of the first quarter and keeping their foot on the gas the remainder of the game.
The Hawks end their season as Division III state champs with a 28-1 record. The Hawks' title win on Saturday was the program's sixth.
On Sunday, the team is scheduled to parade through Berlin around 2 p.m. with a ceremony at the Perry Reese Community Center planned to conclude the parade.
