SYRACUSE — The Cleveland Monsters are headed home with a 2-0 lead over the Syracuse Crunch after defeating them 5-1 in Game 2 of the 2019 Calder Cup Playoffs.
Following a scoreless first period, Justin Scott was able to find the net early in the second period.

A Syracuse power play goal from Ross Colton tied things up, but a goal from Cleveland’s Dan DeSalvo reclaimed the lead for the Monsters, putting them up 2-1.

The game belonged to Cleveland from there, with three consecutive goals from Mark Letestu, Sonny Milano and Derek Barach, bringing the final score to 5-1.

Goaltender Brad Thiessen stopped 18 pucks in the win over the Crunch.
The Monsters will look to take advantage of home ice on Tuesday in Game 3 against the Crunch at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse at 7:30 p.m.
