CLEVELAND — Minutes after the team announced it was putting pitcher Mike Clevinger on the 10-day disabled list, manager Tito Francona told reporters that it will be six to eight weeks "before we’re even looking at him picking up a ball.”

This is an early-season blow for the Indians. The Tribe's No. 4 starter began the season red hot. In two starts he had given up just two hits and zero runs, striking out 22 in 12 innings. He was pulled from his last start against the Blue Jays on April 7 with upper back tightness.

Clevinger's next start was slated for Saturday on the road against the Royals. It is unknown who will pitch for the Indians in his place.
