Police in North Carolina say Desmond Harrison has turned himself in following a warrant that was issued to the offensive tackle.
Harrison was released by the Arizona Cardinals on Wednesday morning.
The felony arrest warrant was issued by the Greensboro Police Department in North Carolina in regards to assault by strangulation and assault against a woman, officials said.
The incident was initially reported to authorities on Tuesday, according to police.
The Cardinals announced Wednesday that Harrison has been released by the team.
The 25-year-old Harrison played collegiately at West Georgia. He signed with the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent before the 2018 season and won a starting job on the offensive line. He made eight starts for the Browns last season but was benched halfway through the year. He was released by the Browns on June 5 and claimed off waivers by the Cardinals the following day.
