CANTON, Ohio — With the Pro Football Hall of Fame kicking off the NFL’s 100th season and the 2019 Enshrinement Week, celebrations began Wednesday morning with an opening ceremony and the Play Football “First Play” event.
Play Football is an NFL initiative to celebrate youth and high school football.
The event, which is in its 20th year, featured thousands of children ages 3-16 who formed a human chain and passed a football along a three-mile route from the location in downtown Canton where the NFL was founded to the front steps of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
The opening ceremony and Play Football “First Play” began at 10 a.m.
