FORECAST: Wind Advisory & Flood Watch Means Windy & Wet Weather Ahead

WIND ADVISORY has been issued for northern & western parts of NE Ohio from 4 AM - 7 PM Wednesday with south winds of 20-30 mph expected & gusts to 50 mph possible. This includes N. Ashtabula, Lake, Cuyahoga, Lorain, Erie, Huron, Richland & Ashland counties

FLOOD WATCH has been issued for much of the area from 7 PM Wednesday to 1 AM Friday. Some parts of the area could pick up 1-2" of rain by Thursday night. That heavy rain combined with rapid snow melt from warmer temps and possible ice jams will lead to an increased flood threat Thursday.

Skies will be partly cloudy overnight. Temperatures will slowly warm thru the 30s by the Wednesday AM rush hour as a warm front moves north thru the area tonight. Winds will increase and gust above 30 miles per hour by day break as well.

Much warmer air will stream into the area on Wednesday with highs climbing into the lower and middle 50s by late afternoon. Skies will become mostly cloudy during the afternoon. The warm air, plus wind gusts between 30 & 45 mph will combine to melt a lot of snow during the day. This will help set up our flood threat for Thursday and Friday...

Winds will subside a bit on Thursday. That's when moderate to heavy rain arrives. Expect an inch or more of rain during the day. Rivers and streams will likely begin to fill and I'm even concerned about ice jam flooding as well. Thursday's highs will remain in the low to mid 50-s, especially during the morning hours.

A slow moving cold front will push east thru our area Thursday evening, bringing back a quick shot of very cold air for Friday and early Saturday. A light coating of ice and snow is possible as the cold front moves by into early Friday morning with a few lingering light snow showers possible during the day Friday. Low temperatures Friday morning will drop quickly into the teens with Friday afternoon highs staying in the 20s.
