Several Northeast Ohio counties experiencing power outages

CLEVELAND — Over 5,000 customers are without power around Northeast Ohio.

According to FirstEnergy, these are the following counties experiencing outages:

  • Cuyahoga County: 1,533
  • Geauga County: 673
  • Lorain County: 277

The causes of the outages are still under investigation, according to FirstEnergy. Power is expected to be restored by 6:30 p.m.

The Cuyahoga County's Virgil E. Brown Building is experiencing a power outage. Cleveland Public Power is working on a resolution.

A Wind Advisory is in effect from 8 a.m. until 4 a.m. Friday for Erie County and from noon Thursday until 4 a.m. Friday for Northern Ashtabula, Lake, Cuyahoga, Huron, Ashland, Richland, Erie, Ottawa, Sandusky and Seneca counties.

Wind gusts are expected to reach between 40 to 50 mph later today. High winds could impact trees, power lines, unsecured objects and high-profile vehicles.
