Spring can often turn a cold shoulder on Northern Ohio as it will likely do this weekend.
Computer forecast guidance is projecting another shot of chilly air dropping south across Ohio Friday night.
That's bad news for those of us want warm weather.
Take a look at the graphic below:
These are the projected low temperatures for Sunday morning of next week. 30s with some spots seeing frost.
Now look at Monday morning's suggested low temperatures:
Even colder, with many spots below freezing! These's a reason we don't plant those tender annuals outside just yet. May, often gets frosty!
In fact, a major cold outbreak also occurred in may of 1966. This following another strong winter El Nino, like the one we just finished this year!
Looks at the cold that broke out in May of that year, including a low of 25 degrees on May 10th. We even saw a few snow flakes (last column)!

I don't think we'll see that kind of cold this year, but you see why I am not surprised at a good shot of cold in the forecast this year. Grab the coats.
