Swimmers should take caution if they’re heading to Lake Erie Saturday.
The National Weather Service issued a Beach Hazard Statement for the following counties:
- Cuyahoga
- Erie
- Lake
- Lorain
The Beach Hazard Statement is effective until 10 p.m.
Beach Hazard Statements are issued when swimmers are at risk due to a combination of wind and large waves, rip currents and longshore currents.
The conditions on the water can create life-threatening conditions for even the most experienced swimmers, according to the NWS.
