CLEVELAND — Dangerous swimming conditions have prompted a Beach Hazards Statement in effect from noon on Thursday until 4:00 a.m. on Friday for Ashtabula, Lorain, Lake, Erie and Cuyahoga counties.

The Beach Hazards Statement is issued when there is a risk for swimming because of large waves and rip currents.

The current swimming risks can create life threatening conditions even for good swimmers.

Swimmers should stay out of the water and stay away from dangerous areas like piers and breakwalls.
