CLEVELAND — It's a roller coaster week for weather with snow, frost, rain and warm temperatures thrown in the mix. Wednesday night into Thursday morning we will be reminded that we live in Northeast Ohio because there’s a potential for frost before snow moves our way.
Before a warm-up on Thursday, it's likely frost will happen overnight, which means if you have plants outside, you’re recommended to protect them by moving them inside if they are portable or cover them with a blanket or cloth.
A Frost Advisory has been issued for Tuscarawas and Carroll counties. The advisory is in effect from 1 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, with temperatures reaching as low as 33 degrees in some areas.
Clear skies and calm wind allow for temperatures to fall Wednesday night into the mid to lower 30s. Areas away from the lake and in valleys will have the best chance for frost.
By 2:00 a.m. on Thursday, temperatures will dip to the low 40s before bouncing back to the 60s by the afternoon.
Temps take a dive Friday with highs 20 degrees below normal for the day. Scattered rain will mix with wet snow. High temps will struggle into the 40s. Some spots will be cold enough Friday night/Saturday morning for lake effect snow flakes!
After all, it is Northeast Ohio, so snow during May isn't uncommon.
