CLEVELAND — It's a simple message and reminder, but one that is really important to firefighters on the front lines battling fires during winter weather.
The Solon Fire Department issued a reminder to its residents—one that everyone should keep in mind as this weekend's winter storm moves in.
If there's a fire hydrant near your house, do your part and keep it accessible this winter.
Remove any snow and ice around the fire hydrant and clear a wide enough perimeter, about 3-feet on both sides, so firefighters can access it in times of emergency.
Also, clear a path from the hyrdant to the street.
