The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Tuscarawas County and Carroll County, effective until 8:30 p.m. Friday.
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was previously issued for Stark and Wayne counties but has since expired.
State Route 44 between U.S. 62 and Easton Road is currently closed due to downed power lines from the storms. Motorists are advised to avoid this area, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.

Wind gusts of up to 60 mph and quarter-sized hail are possible, NWS said.
Damage to trees and power lines is expected, which could cause power outages in the area.
Residents of Wayne and Stark counties are urged to seek shelter indoors immediately.
