CLEVELAND — The National Weather Service has issued a Beach Hazards Statement for lakeshore counties, including Cuyahoga, Lake, Lorain and Erie counties.

The statement is in effect beginning at 8 a.m. Sunday through 11 p.m Sunday.

Gusty winds and waves can cause currents on the lakeshore. Swimmers are advised not to enter the water.

The currents can carry swimmers away from the shore through a sand bar and along structures extending out into the lake.
