The National Weather Service in Cleveland issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for southwestern Cuyahoga County, northeastern Medina County, northwestern Summit County and east-central Lorain County in northern Ohio until 3:15 p.m. They allowed the warning to expire, saying the storm no longer poses an immediate threat to life and property.
However, gusty winds and heavy rain are still possible as a result of the storm, the NWS said.
At 2:26 p.m. a severe thunderstorm was located over Strongsville, or 11 miles north of Medina, moving southeast at 15 mph.
The NWS said potential hazards included 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail.
Possible impacts include minor damage to vehicles, according to the NWS. Expect damage to trees and power lines.
Locations impacted included: Cleveland, Akron, Parma, Cuyahoga Falls, Strongsville, Brunswick, North Royalton, Hudson, Twinsburg, Macedonia, North Olmsted, Parma Heights, Broadview Heights, Brook Park, Berea, Middleburg Heights, Brecksville, Seven Hills, Olmsted Falls and Hinckley.
