The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory in our area until Friday morning due to strong winds with gusts up to 50 mph.
A strong cold front will move through the area Thursday evening, the NWS states. Winds will turn west and become strong and gusty as the front passes. Strong winds will continue overnight until Friday morning until diminishing.
Westward winds will blow at 25 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph, according to the NWS.
Strong winds may blow down tree limbs, trees and power lines, the NWS states. Scattered power outages are expected.
Motorists, especially those in high-profile vehicles, should use caution.
The Wind Advisory is in effect for the following counties: Cuyahoga, Lake-Geauga, Ashtabula Inland, Medina, Ashtabula Lakeshore, Northern Erie, Southern Erie, and includes the cities of Cleveland, Mentor, Chardon, Jefferson, Medina, Ashtabula, Erie, and Edinboro.
