CLEVELAND — Snow will spread northeast across the News 5 viewing area before sunrise on Wednesday, impacting the morning commute, particularly for rural areas south of Greater Cleveland.
Residents should expect 1 to 3 inches of snow plus ice across a wide portion of the viewing area by noon on Wednesday.
WATCH: Chief Meteorologist Mark Johnson chats about the snow.
Roadways will be slick, especially untreated surfaces and side roads. Crashes are possible, along with a few school delays and closings, especially for rural counties between Mansfield, Canton and Youngstown.
The system will spread north into the Lakeshore areas by 7 a.m.
By late morning/afternoon, snow will transition to scattered rain showers as temperatures warm up into the upper 30s and lower 40s—ending the impact.
