CLEVELAND — There will be a slight risk of severe weather overnight Friday for parts of Northeast Ohio.

Areas that could see a severe storm include Cleveland, Ashtabula, Cortland, Youngstown, Canton, to Wooster and points west, said Power of 5 Chief Meteorologist Mark Johnson.

Johnson said he expects a round or two of strong storms to approach around 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday night, with another round possible after midnight.

These storms could contain some damaging winds and possibly hail. The entire viewing could see heavy rain overnight.

On Saturday, the southern end of our viewing area – Akron, Canton, Dover, New Philadelphia, Wooster and Mansfield – has another shot at severe storms in the afternoon. Those north will likely experience isolated showers and thundershowers, Johnson said.
