Meteorological summer begins in just eight days, but northern Ohio is about to get a jump start into summer temperatures starting Wednesday.
Thanks to a pattern shift in the jet stream with warm air rising from the south into Northeast Ohio, we are heading into a seven-day stretch with daytime highs that will boost us back into the 80s. May has registered at a few degrees below average, but the month looks like it will finish with a strong comeback.
It has been almost two seasons since we've seen seven consecutive days in the 80s. The last time was in August 2015!
8-13: 81°
8-14: 84°
8-15: 82°
8-16: 87°
8-17: 85°
8-18: 83°
8-19: 89°
As the summer feel sets in midweek, we will still have to contend with rain and a few scattered storms. Nothing on the severe side, but it would have been nice to bask in the 80s under sunny skies.
Enjoy a full-on summer pattern during the dwindling days of spring!
